About Sahod PH

Comprehensive Financial Tools for Filipinos

Our Core Mission

While our primary focus is providing an easy-to-use, highly precise tax calculator for Filipino workers, our platform has evolved into a comprehensive suite of financial tools. From calculating your take-home pay under the TRAIN Law to projecting your 13th-month bonuses, Pag-IBIG MP2 investments, and Digital Bank yields, our goal is to empower your financial literacy and planning through transparency.

Why We Created These Tools

Determining monthly withholding taxes can be complicated under the progressive brackets of the TRAIN Law (Republic Act No. 10963). When SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG monthly contribution tables are factored in, manual calculations become tedious.

We initially designed our flagship tax application to automate this computation reactively. Today, we have expanded our suite to include investment calculators (like MP2 and High-Yield Digital Banks) and bonus estimators, allowing you to instantly project your wealth growth and manage your finances with ease.

The People Behind Sahod PH

Sahod PH is an independent project built and maintained by two creators who wanted Philippine personal finance to be less of a guessing game.

Dainiel Lim is a software engineer who has spent years building and maintaining finance management systems, including as part of the team that developed and implemented the corporate finance management information system of a Philippine government entity. He started Sahod PH to give individuals a straightforward way to compare and proof-check their own earnings—taking the kind of computation that usually stays locked inside payroll and accounting software and making it something anyone can run in their browser. He also maintains a 2048 browser game with 3x3, 5x5, Fibonacci, and Hexagonal variants.

El Cabana (Chai Cabana) brings hands-on finance experience across the private and business sectors, helping ensure the tools and guides reflect how Philippine taxation and compensation actually work in practice. She writes the Sahod PH blog under the byline Chai Cabana.

How We Ensure Accuracy

A calculator is only useful if you can trust its answer. Here is how we check ours:

  • Official Sources: Our formulas follow the rules as the agencies publish them, from the Bureau of Internal Revenue's graduated tax brackets under the TRAIN Law (Republic Act No. 10963) to the current SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contribution tables.
  • Professional Review: Our calculators are reviewed by practicing tax consultants and accountants, including an accountant who specializes in freelancer and self-employed taxes. They work with these computations for clients every day, and they check that our results match how the rules are actually applied, not just how they read on paper. They review in a private capacity, so we don't name them here.
  • Kept Current: When an agency changes a rate or table, we update the affected calculators and guides together. Every fix we make is recorded in our corrections log.

Editorial Independence & Privacy

We maintain strict editorial independence. While we may feature ads to keep the tools free, our calculations and financial guides are never influenced by third-party sponsors. Furthermore, we guarantee 100% Client-Side Privacy. Your salary inputs, investment amounts, and personal data never leave your browser and are never stored on our servers.
